FBI Offers $20,000 Reward in Targeted Shooting Death of Ole Miss Football Player Corey Adams

Federal and local authorities are intensifying efforts to identify those responsible for the fatal shooting of University of Mississippi football player Corey Adams, announcing a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation Nashville Field Office, working through its Memphis Resident Agency, is leading the investigation alongside the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office into the July 19, 2025 homicide that occurred in Cordova, Tennessee. Investigators confirmed that Adams was killed in a drive-by shooting while attending a gathering outside a residence where a pool party was underway.

According to law enforcement, Adams was standing with several fellow football players when a black Nissan sedan drove past the location and opened fire without warning. Multiple individuals were struck by gunfire. Adams sustained critical injuries and later died from the wounds. Other victims survived, though authorities have not publicly detailed their conditions.

Adams was a rising defensive talent with the Ole Miss Rebels, and his death sent shockwaves through the collegiate athletics community and the broader Memphis region. Investigators have stated that the attack appeared deliberate rather than random, noting the vehicle’s approach, rapid gunfire, and immediate departure from the scene.
