As we navigate through the summer season, the United States is experiencing a variety of severe weather conditions. Here’s what you need to know:
Post-Tropical Cyclone Beryl’s Aftermath:
- Status: Having made landfall, Post-Tropical Cyclone Beryl’s winds have decreased to a steady 30mph. At its peak, the cyclone boasted winds of up to 165mph.

- Precautions: Residents in the affected regions should remain vigilant for potential hazards such as fallen electrical lines and waterlogged streets. It’s crucial to ensure that generators are used in well-ventilated areas and that electrical tools are handled with care.
Tornado Activity:
- New York’s Finger Lakes Region: A tornado watch is in place, with severe thunderstorms predicted for the afternoon. These storms may bring tornadoes and hail of considerable size.
- New York and Pennsylvania: Tornado risks persist across various parts of New York State and Northern to Central Pennsylvania, exacerbated by the remnants of Beryl.

Not to mention the heatwave in the northeast. Not a great weather week much of anywhere!
I agree. I’m hopeful that the weather will improve, but I have a feeling that the remainder of the year might be challenging. Fingers crossed that I’m wrong.
I think the summer will be at least. We shall see what fall and winter bring 🤞
