In every corner of our vast globe,
In whispered winds, their stories probe,
Children, women, men, gone without trace,
Vanished from love’s warm embrace.
In the silence of the night, they fade,
Into the void, their memories wade,
A tapestry of souls, lost in time,
Each disappearance, a haunting chime.
Families yearn for a sign, a word,
For the voices of their loved ones, unheard,
The empty chairs at dinner tables,
Turn joyful homes into mournful fables.
The missing, like stars, once bright and clear,
Now distant echoes that none can hear,
Their absence a void, dark and deep,
Leaving behind a world to weep.
Oh, how the heart aches for their return,
For the end of the nights that lonely burn,
Each dawn brings hope, yet sunset grieves,
For the missing, like autumn leaves.
Let us not forget their names, their faces,
Lost in the world’s hidden spaces,
May awareness spread, wide and far,
For each missing soul, a guiding star.
In unity, we stand, a beacon of light,
Against the darkness of this plight,
For every child, woman, and man,
We’ll search the earth, because we can.
So hear this plea, this rhyme, this verse,
Let not this sorrowful tale disperse,
Until the missing are found, at last,
And the shadows of anguish are past.

Thank you for your kind words.
So expressive of the losses felt by many during wars and other tragedies.
Beautifully captures the deep pain and hope surrounding those who are missing.
Nicely written🙂
Thank you very much, Sia! 😎
