As the voice behind The Realist Juggernaut, I’ve encountered a recurring theme in the emails that fill my inbox. There’s an undeniable tension surrounding the posts I choose to ‘like’ and the perceived endorsement that action might imply. I want to take a moment to address this directly and reaffirm our platform’s stance: we are, and always will be, staunch advocates for free speech. This commitment to upholding the freedom of expression is unwavering.
It’s essential to understand that unanimity is not the goal—nor should it be. The beauty of our discourse lies in its diversity; a mosaic of thoughts and opinions that together create a richer, more vibrant conversation. It’s this diversity that I seek to foster and celebrate at The Realist Juggernaut.
When I ‘like’ a post, it’s not an automatic nod to its content. As a writer, my appreciation for the craft of writing runs deep. It’s the artistry, the careful structuring of thoughts, and the eloquence of expression that draw my attention. A well-composed piece earns my ‘like’ for its literary merit, regardless of whether I agree with the views it presents.
In the vast landscape of ideas and opinions, it’s crucial to remember that the act of liking a post is not an endorsement of its ideology but rather an acknowledgment of its quality. At The Realist Juggernaut, we don’t just tolerate different perspectives—we embrace them. We celebrate the skill of writing and encourage a tapestry of viewpoints, always nurturing a space where freedom of expression isn’t just allowed; it’s encouraged.
So, let’s shift our focus to the craft, the narrative techniques, and the power of words. Let’s continue to support and respect the diverse voices that make our community so dynamic and robust. And let’s remember that at the heart of every ‘like’ lies a respect for the writer’s ability to articulate and share their thoughts, regardless of the stance they take.
Thank you all for your unwavering support, God bless!

I agree, John. I “Like” posts for various reasons.
I encountered this a lot when I started to reengage with the WP Community. Ya know, writers or not. I got Shakespeare and Wordsworth on my shelf bc I read them in school but they’re not my fav people but incredible writers. Sometimes it’s both or the other imo. I feel the same about any other Social Media platforms like Instagram or Facebook. I’m not friends or follow everyone with an account… similar tastes or not, writer or not. Photographer, blogger etc.
When I opened this page, I focused heavily the first year/collection on my writing and continue that into 2nd draft all the way to finishing off my over-arching work on Collection 6 and I interacted a lot. Found accounts like yours, and even some old ones. I’ve been off and on since it’s inception in 2004 and 2016-2018 was the last time I used to heavily for school projects when I was wrapping up my education.
You don’t have to be my cup of tea as a profile, but as writer I want to surround myself with other publications, poets, writers, artists… And even the few glances or finding familiar friends and seeing what they’re up to now; these days I don’t have time to scrub and keep searching first poets and certain tags like I used to.
I got some of the same pages I visit and alot most of my likes to, but at the same time they’ve been the most active as far as writing to catch my attention.
Everyone got their own intention, especially as a small business owner I seek a sort-of professionalism that is highly inspirational in the creative fields. I’m the bad guy willing to say a lot of people are on their way and haven’t quite honed their work as a writer or poet – which is good too!! Dig deep, and I come perusing later and I see improvements and growth and it makes me happy.
Writer’s Block is totally a thing too! Creative walls, whatever. I write stupid stuff all the time on my page to get through Writer’s Block and coping with disability and maintaining a qualitative life.
At the end of the day, I gotta represent mine and keep pushing forth in my pursuit of art, passion, and my career.
I’m just glad I can make the time to read a few every week and keep up with my favorites ☺️😎🤙🏼
It’s truly inspiring to hear about your journey through the writing landscape and how you’ve navigated the balance between personal expression and professional development. Your approach to surrounding yourself with diverse talents and voices in the creative field resonates deeply with me. Like you, I believe that every writer, artist, or creator we encounter—whether they align with our tastes or not—enriches our perspective and hones our craft.
Your dedication to your art, despite the challenges of writer’s block and personal hurdles, is commendable. It’s a reminder that the creative process is as much about perseverance as it is about inspiration. Your willingness to embrace the growth of others, and to find joy in their progress, speaks volumes about your character as a writer. Thank you very much, Sam! 😎
That was very sweet, John. Thank you! ☺️☺️ I’m humbled to hear such qualities opinions and that my big ol’ blurbble resonated at all 😄 it can be challenging voicing an opinion on the field or industry you work in. It’s like a corporate-peers talk to me after awhile..not everyone does or is in a comfortable spot to express these types of regards without backlash or nit-picking criticism for taking a line and stand at solidarity amongst integral artists and creatives, especially that pursue it as a career. Or people like me that has a couple backgrounds and sometimes they inspire my creative work or vice versa. Inspiration all the same.
That’s why I appreciate publications like yours immensely. Between informative, to indie-journalism, and creative writing, and wonderful poetry and adventures and stories. All the news updates. You really are the most active page I keep up with, I may not get to them all but I love that I can bounce around a genre and I see artistic expression all the same. Fiction or Nonfiction. That’s really wonderful, and rare! Graphics and Photography are absolutely stellar and unique in perspective too!
Thanks, John 😎
You’re very welcome, Sam! Thank you as well. 😎
Wow! Thank you!! Your likes are true and appreciated very much by me. I love to share blogs that give hope, beauty, understanding, humor, or help. Thank you for your kind support.
You’re very welcome, and Thank you as well! 😎
