I’ve decided to send the crew home for a couple of days, maybe longer. Right now, I’m feeling like we’re putting in all this effort, and for what? It seems like we’re pouring our hearts into this—reading and engaging with others, writing meaningful and impactful posts—and it’s starting to feel like none of it is worth it.
Statistically, we’re doing everything right. We’re consistent, we’re putting out meaningful content, and we’re genuinely engaging with others. But even with all that, the return just isn’t there. We have written well over 1,500 articles—there’s plenty to read and like. Either we are getting shadow banned worse here on WordPress, or we’re just here for the benefit of reading and liking posts. But just like all of you, we need to benefit as well. This is our business. This is our livelihood. It’s the way we make money. For the people who work here, this is how they feed their families.
We just wrote about people taking advantage of others’ support, and yet some of the very people who liked that post are doing exactly what we called out. It’s frustrating and, frankly, disappointing—and you know who you are. For those who don’t believe this is happening, take a look through our posts. The engagement speaks for itself—you can clearly see who engages and who doesn’t.
We genuinely read and engage with so many posts from others, and we love doing it. Reading and engaging with everyone’s work is not just part of what we do—it’s personal as well as professional. We started this business because we truly enjoy it. Connecting with others and supporting great work matters to us. Making a difference matters to us.
But honestly, it’s frustrating when that effort isn’t returned. Just think about this: we’ve written three important posts recently—posts we poured everything into—and not even thirty people out of nearly 300 engaged with them. Seriously? It’s hard not to feel disheartened when the numbers speak for themselves.
We’re here because we love this work, but support has to go both ways for it to make sense. Without that mutual engagement, it’s hard to keep going.
I’m frustrated, and it’s hard to ignore the reality. Making payroll is a constant struggle, and it’s becoming painfully clear that we might not be making the kind of difference we’ve been striving for. Maybe we’ve been fooling ourselves, but right now, it feels like we have nothing here that’s worth the effort anymore.
We will still struggle through it, just as we always have. Moving forward, I hope that those who are no longer engaging start engaging again, because we will pull our support, and you will notice the difference.
To those of you who have been continually supporting us—we know exactly who you are—thank you. You put many people to shame. Your encouragement has meant more than you know, and we genuinely appreciate it.
But for now, I need to step away. I wish you all well, and I hope you have a great day.
Take care, and I’ll see you in a few days.

I completely understand how you’re feeling—every writer has moments like these. Putting your heart and soul into something only to feel like it’s not reaching anyone can be incredibly disheartening. But I want to remind you that every voice has value, and every story you share is building a foundation, even if you can’t always see the results right away.
I’ve been there too, wondering if all the effort is worth it. But here’s what I’ve learned: impact often grows in silence before it becomes visible. There are readers out there who need your words but may not express it yet. Keep writing for them and for yourself, because your voice matters.
Take the break if you need to recharge, but don’t give up. You’re not alone in this journey, and the connections you’re building will bear fruit in time. Sometimes, it’s persistence that separates the ones who make it from the ones who don’t. I believe in your ability to: make a difference.
Keep going—you’ve got this!
Thank you very much for your thoughtful and encouraging words, Yusif! I truly appreciate you sharing your perspective—it’s comforting to know that others have been in a similar place and persevered. I love what you said about impact growing in silence before it becomes visible. That really resonates and is a powerful reminder to stay the course. One thing is for sure: I will never give up. Your support means a lot, as does everyone’s support, and I’m so grateful for it. Thanks again, and I hope you have a blessed day. 😎
It sounds like an adjustment in your expectations might be in order.
Hope a break will give you a chance to get things where you want them.
My expectations don’t need adjusting—they’re exactly where they should be. In fact, we should have surpassed those expectations by now. But I do agree that a break might give us the clarity we need to refocus and move forward stronger. Thank you for your thoughts.
Take a break and enjoy it. Your true followers will be here when you return.
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement. It truly means a lot to know our true followers are here for us, and it’s greatly appreciated. 😎
I’m sorry it’s all got you this way, but I understand your struggle. I hope the break will refresh you all, at the very least. Best wishes. 😌
Laura, you always engage with our posts, and that truly means a lot to us. We appreciate all the support we can get, and your engagement speaks volumes—especially considering the way your government has been. We deeply appreciate you. Thank you for everything you do. I hope you have a wonderful day. Best wishes to you as well. 😎
The same to you. Have a good rest. 🙂
Hopefully the break away is a nice reset for you and the crew, John. Sometimes it can feel like a true grind and a source of frustration. And sometimes, a step back can lead to a breakthrough. New ideas for content, a different approach/format. etc.
Sometimes just changing the timing of your posts can make a difference. Sometimes it’s just tiny adjustments that lead to solid gains.
Regardless, I wish you all the best and hope you find the break refreshing. Hope to see you again soon.
Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful comment, Kevin. Your support and perspective mean a lot.
You’re absolutely right—sometimes stepping back can provide clarity and open the door for breakthroughs, whether it’s new ideas, a fresh approach, or even small adjustments that lead to bigger gains. Timing can play a role, but as we addressed in the post, this break is more about the broader frustrations we’ve been facing—frustrations with engagement and the lack of mutual support despite the effort we put in.
Still, your point about taking the time to reset is spot on, and that’s exactly what I’m hoping this break will provide—for myself and for the crew. Thank you for the encouragement and the reminder that even small changes can make a big impact. Thanks again, Kevin. I hope you have a great night. 😎
Totally understand the frustrations, John. I have faced them at times myself. I don’t make a living off this, so I imagine your frustration is multiplied substantially.
For what it’s worth, I appreciate your support and do my best to reciprocate whenever I am able.
Hang in there and best of luck wherever the path leads!
