Betrayal’s sting, a familiar pain,
When truth we speak, though hearts disdain.
A righteous cause, a voice of might,
Yet shadows fall where shines the light.
The crowds may cheer, then turn away,
Support so fleeting, like skies of gray.
But steadfast still, we walk this road,
To bear the weight of justice’s load.
A trusted friend, now distant gaze,
A bond once strong, lost in the haze.
Their whispers cold, their silence loud,
Yet faith remains, beyond the crowd.
Galatians’ words, a guiding star,
“Do not grow weary, you’ve come so far.”
The harvest waits, though fields seem bare,
Each step a testament to care.
Psalm’s lament, “A friend betrayed,”
In sacred truth, my fears allayed.
For Christ Himself endured the same,
Through trials fierce, He bore no shame.
“The good fight fought,” says Timothy,
A race well run, for all to see.
Though winds may howl and storms may rise,
We lift our eyes beyond the skies.
To stand for right, though few remain,
Is worth the cost, despite the pain.
For justice calls, a timeless cry,
To lift the low, to reach the high.
So onward walk, though lonely still,
With faith and fire, unyielding will.
For change begins where courage grows,
And truth’s pure light through darkness glows.

Very good and well written John. Sometimes we have to walk that path alone to see growth.

😎 Nice post, John! “There is nothing new under the sun”… all the things we were told we’d face are not unique to our generation. I take comfort in that 🙂🙏
Thank you very much, Darryl! I truly appreciate your thoughtful comment. You’re absolutely right—there’s nothing new under the sun, and history has a way of repeating itself. Thanks again, and I hope you have a great night! 😎
