DOJ OPERATION RELENTLESS JUSTICE LEADS TO RECOVERY OF OVER 200 CHILD VICTIMS AND NEARLY 300 ARRESTS IN NATIONWIDE CHILD EXPLOITATION CRACKDOWN

Federal authorities have announced the results of Operation Relentless Justice, a coordinated nationwide enforcement surge targeting child sexual exploitation networks operating both online and offline across the United States. The operation resulted in the identification and recovery of more than 205 child victims and the arrest of 293 individuals accused of child sexual abuse–related crimes.

The enforcement action was carried out over a two-week period and involved all 56 FBI field offices, the Department of Justice’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices nationwide. The operation represents one of the largest coordinated child protection actions conducted this year.

According to federal officials, those arrested face allegations spanning a broad spectrum of offenses, including the production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), online enticement of minors, transportation of children for illegal sexual activity, and child sex trafficking. Investigators emphasized that the scope of the operation reflects the scale and persistence of online exploitation threats, rather than isolated criminal behavior.

Among the cases cited by authorities were arrests involving individuals in positions of trust and authority. In one case, a U.S. Air Force service member stationed in Texas and his spouse were arrested on allegations of producing CSAM. In another, a police officer in North Carolina was charged after allegedly distributing CSAM to an undercover officer while discussing interest in sexual contact with children.

Federal investigators also highlighted cases involving repeat offenders and individuals with prior criminal histories. One arrest involved a previously deported Guatemalan national with a record of violent and weapons-related offenses, who was charged in connection with online enticement of a minor.

The operation also addressed the rising threat of sextortion, a form of online exploitation in which offenders coerce minors into producing sexual material through threats or manipulation. Authorities confirmed arrests connected to organized online exploitation groups and cited a case in which a minor attempted suicide following sustained coercion and psychological abuse.

Operation Relentless Justice follows earlier federal enforcement actions conducted in 2025, including Operation Restore Justice in May, which resulted in the recovery of 115 children and 205 arrests, and Operation Enduring Justice in August, which led to 133 child recoveries and 234 arrests. Federal officials described the successive operations as part of a sustained strategy rather than isolated surges.

The FBI’s Victim Services Division played a central role during the operation, providing forensic interviews, crisis intervention, referrals for medical and mental health services, and coordination with local victim advocacy organizations. Authorities emphasized that victim support and recovery remain a parallel priority alongside enforcement.

The cases were brought under Project Safe Childhood, a long-standing Department of Justice initiative designed to combat child sexual exploitation through coordinated federal, state, and local enforcement. Federal authorities also reiterated their partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which serves as a central clearinghouse for tips and victim identification.

Officials stressed that all charges announced remain allegations and that defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
