A 37-year-old male wanted in Indianapolis on felony charges involving crimes against children was captured in Texas after fleeing Indiana and traveling south in an apparent attempt to distance himself from active prosecution. The arrest occurred February 4 at a Motel 6 in south San Antonio, a location positioned near a transit corridor with direct bus access toward the U.S.–Mexico border region.
The apprehension was conducted under “Operation No Escape,” a coordinated federal initiative focused on locating and arresting violent fugitives who attempt to evade law enforcement by crossing state lines. The operational model emphasizes rapid intelligence sharing, mobility tracking, and multi-agency surge deployment designed to prevent suspects from exploiting jurisdictional boundaries.
Investigators with FBI Indianapolis, working alongside the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, developed investigative leads indicating the suspect had relocated to Texas. Once travel patterns and geographic indicators suggested continued southbound movement, FBI Indianapolis relayed time-sensitive intelligence to FBI San Antonio. A coordinated response followed, activating regional law enforcement assets across Texas as the suspect moved from North Texas toward South Texas.
FBI San Antonio’s Safe Streets Task Force mobilized more than 100 law enforcement personnel to assist in containment and apprehension efforts. Supporting agencies included the Texas Department of Public Safety, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Texarkana Texas Police Department, the San Antonio Police Department, the New Braunfels Police Department, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Office of Inspector General Fugitive Operations, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement — Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE-ERO). The scale of deployment reflected the severity of the underlying charges and the assessment that the fugitive posed a continued public safety risk.
Investigators ultimately located the suspect at the Motel 6 in south San Antonio, where he was taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search of his belongings revealed two loaded pistol magazines, a cellphone, an electronic tablet, zip ties, a knife, a ski mask, lotion, narcotics, a camera remote, a Mexican passport, and both U.S. and Mexican currency. The assortment of items recovered raised additional investigative considerations regarding potential flight intent, concealment planning, and possible further criminal conduct.
The fugitive was booked into the Bexar County Jail on February 4 on the outstanding Indiana warrant. An immigration detainer was also lodged by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Extradition proceedings are expected to follow, returning the suspect to Indiana to face the pending charges.
Cross-state fugitive operations of this scale illustrate the federal-state integration model currently used in violent offender apprehensions. Rapid interagency coordination, intelligence transmission, and logistical mobilization remain central to preventing suspects from leveraging geographic distance as a shield against prosecution.

“Cross-state fugitive operations of this scale illustrate the federal-state integration model currently used in violent offender apprehensions.”
This is just the kind of cooperation we need for things like this. Crimes against children are particularly serious and I’m glad they caught this guy. I hope he gets a fair trial in Indiana and a proper sentence if found guilty of the charges.
Thank you for this article.
You’re very welcome, Chris — that’s exactly the right takeaway.
Cases involving crimes against children demand coordination at every level. When a suspect crosses state lines, it stops being a local matter and becomes a test of whether federal, state, and local systems can integrate quickly and effectively. In this instance, the multi-agency response prevented flight from becoming escape.
You’re also right to emphasize due process. An arrest is the beginning of the judicial phase, not the end of it. A fair trial and a sentence that reflects the evidence are essential to maintaining both accountability and constitutional integrity.
Thanks again, Chris. I appreciate you reading closely and taking the time to comment. I hope you had a great day, and I hope you have a great night. 😎
