A federal grand jury has returned an indictment against Ishaq Ikharo, 28, of San Ramon, charging him with coercion and enticement of nine minor victims in a sustained online exploitation operation that spanned multiple years and platforms.
According to the indictment filed on February 11, 2026, and supporting court records, the conduct occurred between April 2022 and September 2024. During that period, Ikharo allegedly used a range of online chat and gaming platforms to initiate contact with minors, gradually establishing communication channels that were then used to persuade, entice, and coerce victims under the age of 18 into engaging in sexual activity. The pattern reflects a structured approach commonly seen in digital grooming operations, where anonymity, accessibility, and platform fragmentation are leveraged to isolate and manipulate targets.
At the time of the alleged offenses, Ikharo was serving a term of federal supervised release stemming from a 2023 conviction in the Western District of New York for possession of child pornography. The overlap between supervised release status and the alleged conduct introduces a critical enforcement dimension, raising questions about compliance monitoring, digital access controls, and post-conviction supervision effectiveness in cyber-enabled offenses.
Federal authorities confirmed that Ikharo has remained in custody since June 30, 2025. He is scheduled to appear on July 30, 2026, for a status conference before U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers. The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Zachary M. Glimcher and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly Volkar, with investigative work led by FBI Special Agent Adelaida Hernandez.
The indictment was announced by United States Attorney Craig H. Missakian and FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge Matt Cobo. Authorities have also issued a public request for information, indicating the possibility of additional victims or relevant intelligence tied to the broader scope of the investigation. The FBI has directed individuals with information to submit tips through official federal reporting channels.
The charge of coercion and enticement of a minor under 18 U.S.C. § 2422(b) carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life imprisonment, along with potential financial penalties of up to $250,000 per count. Sentencing, if applicable, will be determined by the court in accordance with federal guidelines and statutory considerations under 18 U.S.C. § 3553.
This case reflects the continued use of digital environments as operational grounds for exploitation offenses, where communication platforms designed for social interaction and entertainment are repurposed for predatory engagement. The multi-victim scope and extended timeline underscore the persistence and adaptability of such activity when undetected.
An indictment is an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

This should raise a number of questions as it has. I certainly hope things like this don’t happen often. I also hope that this man gets a fair trial and if he is found guilty the prison sentence should fit the crime. Once again, we have a young person into this sort of thing. I hope he asks God to help him turn his life around.
Thank you for this article.
You’re very welcome, Chris.
You’re right to point out that detail—when conduct like this is alleged during a period of supervised release, it raises serious questions about compliance, oversight, and how those conditions are being enforced. Situations like this do come up, and they highlight how critical those safeguards are.
I appreciate what you said about fairness as well. Due process matters, and so does accountability if the charges are proven.
Thank you again for your perspective on this, Chris. I hope you have a great night and day ahead. 😎
