LAFAYETTE – A former Youngsville resident has been sentenced to a decade in federal prison following a conviction involving the distribution and production-related activity of child sexual abuse material.
On April 21, 2026, Nicholas J. Miller, 45, was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, after his January 2026 conviction for distribution of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM). The sentence reflects the severity of the offenses and the long-term monitoring required following incarceration in cases involving exploitation of minors.
Evidence presented in court established that in July 2025, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) received intelligence indicating that Miller had shared CSAM with Brad William Blanchard, a co-conspirator and former Abbeville resident who was prosecuted separately in the Western District of Louisiana and sentenced in November 2025 to 150 months in federal prison.
Following the initial lead, the FBI initiated an investigation that confirmed Miller’s role in distributing illicit material. During the course of the investigation and subsequent arrest, Miller admitted to creating social media accounts to contact and exploit minors, using those platforms to coerce victims into producing and transmitting sexually explicit material.
Investigators further determined that Miller utilized concealed recording devices, including hidden cameras, to produce additional CSAM. The material was then distributed to Blanchard, demonstrating an established pattern of exploitation, production, and dissemination.
The case highlights the use of online platforms and covert recording methods to facilitate the exploitation of minors, as well as the role of digital evidence in identifying and prosecuting offenders engaged in these activities.
U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller for the Western District of Louisiana announced the sentencing.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with prosecution handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Danny Siefker, supported by Paralegal Specialist Denise Duhon.
Federal authorities emphasized that offenses involving the exploitation of minors remain a top enforcement priority, with continued focus on identifying offenders, dismantling networks involved in the distribution of CSAM, and protecting victims from further harm.

It sounds like the federal authorities did a great job on this one. I think the prison time fits and I really like that 15 years of supervised release. This man needs help and, unless he seeks it, this will continue to be an issue for him. I would think that word would be getting around by now about the way our federal government is serious about the attempt to stop this kind of evil crime. These prison sentences are lengthy and rightly so. I hope sentencing like this can become a deterrent.
Thank you for this article.
You’re very welcome, Chris.
Cases like this require a response that reflects the seriousness of the harm and the long-term risk involved. The sentencing structure is designed to address both accountability and continued oversight, which matters in situations where the impact extends beyond a single moment.
Enforcement at this level sends a clear signal about how these offenses are handled. Consistency in that approach is what ultimately shapes deterrence over time.
Thank you again, Chris. I hope you have a great night and day ahead. 😎
You’re welcome, John, and thank you for this response. I hope that this approach continues with consistency for a long time. That will make a difference.
Thanks again, John. I hope you have a great night and a great weekend!😊
