FBI LAUNCHES “VOICES NOT FORGOTTEN” INITIATIVE TO HIGHLIGHT UNSOLVED CASES IN TRIBAL COMMUNITIES

WASHINGTON, D.C. — August 18, 2026 — FBI Director Kash Patel announced a national initiative intended to expand public awareness and increase rewards connected to unresolved homicides, kidnappings and missing-person cases in Indian Country.

The initiative, called “Voices Not Forgotten,” establishes a new FBI protocol providing a minimum reward of up to $25,000 for publicly advertised cases involving homicides, kidnappings and missing persons suspected of being homicide victims in areas under FBI jurisdiction. The cases may include Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons investigations.

Patel announced the initiative during the National Law Enforcement Partner Conference, which brought together more than 200 members of Tribal law enforcement from across the United States.

The FBI also created a centralized Voices Not Forgotten webpage containing a searchable interactive map. The map connects users with FBI posters requesting information about violent offenses affecting Tribal communities. The system is designed to make individual case information easier to locate based on geography rather than requiring families and community members to search through separate federal pages.

“The public is one of our best resources,” Patel said while encouraging people with information to contact federal investigators.

The FBI initially highlighted six cases involving Angel Beach, Sa’Wade Birdinground, Maleeka “Mollie” Boone, Logan Warrior Goings, Mary Johnson (Davis) and Emily Pike. Each case remains the subject of a public request for information.

Angel Beach was shot on October 19, 2020, while walking through the parking lot of the Laundry Station in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on the Muscogee Creek Reservation. According to the FBI, an unidentified man approached Beach and another person during a verbal argument before shooting her. Beach died the following day. Investigators continue seeking information that could identify the person responsible.

Sa’Wade Birdinground was last seen after 11 p.m. on October 6, 2024, at her family’s residence in Garryowen, Montana, within the boundaries of the Crow Indian Reservation. The FBI continues seeking information concerning her whereabouts and recovery.

Eight-year-old Maleeka “Mollie” Boone was reported missing from her Coalmine, Arizona, neighborhood on the Navajo Nation on January 15, 2026. She had left one family member’s home to return to the nearby residence where she lived. Her body was located the following morning in a field within the neighborhood. Investigative developments indicated that Boone may have been struck by a passing vehicle. Authorities have sought information about vehicles traveling along Cedar Loop Road during the period when she disappeared.

Six-year-old Logan Warrior Goings was killed on May 5, 2022, while inside a family residence on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation near Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Investigators said shots were fired toward and into the home, striking Logan while he was sitting on a couch. The FBI has offered a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Mary Johnson, also known as Mary Davis, was last seen on November 25, 2020, walking along Firetrail Road on the Tulalip Reservation in Washington state. She was reported missing on December 9, 2020. Human remains recovered in a remote area of northern Snohomish County on June 13, 2025, were later identified through DNA testing as Johnson’s remains. The FBI’s Seattle Field Office and the Tulalip Tribal Police are investigating her death as suspicious.

Emily Pike was reported missing from a group home in Mesa, Arizona, on January 27, 2025. Her remains were recovered on February 14, 2025, near Forest Road 355 on state land near the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. The FBI, Gila County Sheriff’s Office, San Carlos Apache Tribal Police Department and Mesa Police Department are seeking information identifying the person or people responsible for her disappearance and murder. The FBI has offered a reward of up to $75,000 for independently verifiable information identifying those responsible.

Voices Not Forgotten was developed in response to requests from Tribal communities, recommendations from the Not Invisible Act Commission and conversations between the FBI, Tribal leaders and advocates. One of the central concerns raised during those discussions involved the difficulty of locating federal case information connected to individual Tribal communities.

The FBI has investigative responsibilities for federal offenses committed on nearly 200 reservations nationwide and shares federal jurisdiction with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Individual investigations may also involve Tribal, state and local law enforcement agencies depending on the location and circumstances of the case.
