Rocklin Man Implicated in Alleged White House UFC Attack Plot Indicted on Federal Firearms and Evidence-Destruction Charges

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Rocklin man who came under federal investigation in connection with an alleged plot targeting federal property and officials has been indicted on charges of illegally possessing firearms and destroying records tied to a federal investigation.

Christopher M. Perry, 38, of Rocklin, California, was indicted on August 27, 2026, on charges of being a felon in possession of firearms and destroying records in a federal investigation.

The charges stem from an FBI investigation that authorities said uncovered discussions involving a planned attack at an Ultimate Fighting Championship event held on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, 2026, along with discussions of possible attacks against technology and communications infrastructure in California.

According to court documents, Perry came to the attention of investigators through an inquiry into a group allegedly planning attacks against federal property and government officials.

Perry participated in a Signal chat group that authorities said was used to discuss and plan the alleged White House attack.

Federal prosecutors also said Perry discussed possible attacks in California targeting artificial intelligence data centers, satellite communications facilities, and a California-based technology company.

The allegations extend beyond online conversations.

According to court documents, Perry described himself in the Signal discussions as a career criminal and indicated that he was armed despite being legally prohibited from possessing firearms because of prior felony convictions.

Federal agents contacted Perry at his residence on June 12, 2026, two days before the White House UFC event, and questioned him about his Signal account.

Prosecutors allege that after the agents left, Perry immediately began attempting to destroy evidence connected to the investigation.

Court documents state that he took steps to remove himself from the Signal group, delete his Signal account, and remove the Signal application and associated data from his phone.

Those actions form the basis of the federal charge accusing Perry of destroying records in connection with an ongoing investigation.

The FBI later executed multiple search warrants.

During those searches, investigators recovered multiple firearms allegedly belonging to Perry and more than 2,000 rounds of ammunition.

Authorities also found an ammunition container marked “WWIII,” an abbreviation commonly used for World War III.

Investigators further recovered photographs and videos from Perry’s phone that allegedly depicted firearms and showed Perry holding firearms.

Federal prosecutors maintain that Perry was legally prohibited from possessing the weapons because of his prior felony record.

His prior felony convictions include attempting to bring drugs into a jail or prison and possessing or purchasing drugs for sale.

Those convictions are distinct from the current case and establish the legal basis for the allegation that Perry was prohibited from possessing firearms.

The current federal charges remain unresolved. Perry has not been convicted of the firearms or evidence-destruction charges, and the broader attack-related allegations described in the court filings remain unproven.

Perry is currently being held in federal custody.

He is scheduled to appear for arraignment on August 31, 2026, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sean C. Riordan.

If convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm, Perry faces a maximum statutory sentence of 15 years in federal prison.

The charge of destroying records in a federal investigation carries a maximum statutory sentence of 20 years in prison.

Each charge also carries a potential maximum fine of $250,000.

Any eventual sentence would be determined by the federal court after consideration of applicable statutes, the federal Sentencing Guidelines, and the specific circumstances established in the case.

U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced the indictment.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Elliot Wong is prosecuting the case for the Eastern District of California.

The case combines two areas of federal criminal exposure: prohibited firearm possession based on a prior felony record and alleged destruction of digital evidence after contact with federal investigators.

The Signal discussions provide the investigative context, while the indictment focuses on the firearms and records-destruction charges. Perry is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in federal court.
