FBI JACKSONVILLE HONORS NASCAR SECURITY WITH DIRECTOR’S COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD FOR PUBLIC SAFETY AND CYBERSECURITY PARTNERSHIP

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA — The FBI Jacksonville Field Office has named NASCAR Security the recipient of its 2025 Director’s Community Leadership Award, recognizing a longstanding partnership focused on protecting major sporting events, strengthening cybersecurity, and improving public safety throughout Florida. The collaboration began in 2021 when the FBI Jacksonville Community Outreach team established a working relationship with NASCAR Security.

FBI Jacksonville Special Agent in Charge Jason Carley credited NASCAR Security with helping federal investigators expand communication and strengthen coordination between public and private security professionals. He emphasized the importance of information sharing, early threat identification, and maintaining effective security measures at venues where large numbers of spectators, competitors, and employees gather.

Allen Taylor, managing director of NASCAR Security, described the award as an important acknowledgment of the organization’s relationship with federal law enforcement. Taylor identified the partnership as a central component of NASCAR’s ongoing efforts to maintain secure conditions at Daytona International Speedway for fans, racing teams, competitors, and industry personnel.

The partnership has supported public safety messaging at major NASCAR events, co-branded cybersecurity awareness campaigns, and community engagement activities connecting racing audiences with federal law enforcement personnel. These initiatives have also addressed public awareness of cyber-enabled crime, foreign intelligence threats, and violent crime.

In 2021, the FBI and NASCAR also produced a joint cybersecurity video explaining their cooperation in defending the nation’s critical infrastructure. The presentation addressed cybersecurity readiness, incident response planning, and the protection of digital and operational systems.

The FBI also credited NASCAR Security with helping establish relationships with community leaders across North Florida. According to the Jacksonville Field Office, those connections have supported an expansion of outreach efforts throughout its jurisdiction and into other parts of the state, extending the partnership’s activities beyond individual racing events.

The Director’s Community Leadership Award was formally established in 1990 to recognize individuals and organizations whose contributions advance crime prevention, violence reduction, and community safety. FBI field offices nationwide annually select community partners whose work demonstrates a sustained commitment to those objectives.

Previous recipients recognized by FBI Jacksonville include retired Naval Air Station Pensacola Captain Timothy F. “Lucky” Kinsella Jr., the Duval County Public Schools Parent Academy, and Pastor Korey O’Neal.
