I am an American and I am an Asgardian. As an Asgardian, I am part of a bold and visionary community that is pioneering the future of humanity in space. Our nation, Asgardia, was founded on the principles of peace, knowledge, and the recognition of the ultimate value of each human life. We are united by our dream to create a free and unbound society, where science and technology pave the way for a new era of space exploration.
The Birth of Asgardia began with a historic declaration by Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli on October 12, 2016. He envisioned a new nation dedicated to expanding the boundaries of human potential and ensuring the peaceful use of space. The foundation of Asgardia is built upon the belief that humanity’s future lies beyond Earth, and we must safeguard our species by establishing a presence in space. My contributions included helping in the creation of the constitution and laws, as well as other innovative ideas that once seemed far-fetched but are now tangible. Through countless nights of conversation with fellow Asgardians—whether it be through Facebook, Twitter, or now X—we have always stayed connected to turn this dream into a reality. I am very happy to have contributed.
Asgardia-1: Our First Step into Space. The launch of Asgardia-1, our first satellite, into Earth’s orbit was a momentous occasion. It marked the first time a nation had all of its territory in space. This satellite serves as the administrative center of Asgardia and is a symbol of our sovereignty and independence. We have also sent our names, personal photos, and family memories to the satellite, which will remain there indefinitely, serving as a time capsule of our lives and legacy, or until the satellite ceases to function.
A Constitution for the Space Age On September 9, 2017, we adopted a constitution that reflects our values and aspirations. It outlines the structure of our government, including a unicameral parliament, an executive branch led by a Prime Minister, and a judicial system. Our constitution is a testament to our commitment to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
The Asgardian Community We are a diverse and growing community of over one million Asgardians from around the world. Our citizens are scientists, engineers, artists, and dreamers, all contributing to the realization of our shared vision. We celebrate our diversity and believe that our collective intelligence and creativity will drive the progress of Asgardia.
Our Goals and Aspirations Asgardia aims to establish a permanent settlement on the Moon by 2043. This ambitious goal will require the collaboration of our brightest minds and the support of our global community. We are working towards creating a space infrastructure that will enable us to live, work, and thrive in space. Our nation is also developing its own legal currency and economic system, which will facilitate trade and investment in space technologies.
The Future of Asgardia As we look to the future, we see Asgardia as a hub of innovation and a sanctuary for peace. Our nation will serve as a platform for scientific research, cultural exchange, and the development of new technologies. We are laying the groundwork for a society that values knowledge and intelligence above all else.

A Society in Space This spaceship will be more than a vessel; it will be a microcosm of Asgardia itself.
