When midnight strikes and the fog rolls in,
When darkness falls and shadows spin,
The witches wake, with cackles wild,
To gather where the forest’s riled.
They glide on brooms through inky skies,
With crooked grins and piercing eyes,
Their fingers long, like twisted twigs,
In hats and cloaks, in scarves and wigs.
They circle ’round in eerie dance,
Their voices hum, their dark eyes trance.
They chant their spells in tongues unknown,
Their words like whispers, cold as stone.
Beneath the stars, the cauldron boils,
With bubbling brews and mystic oils,
A greenish light casts wicked hues,
As they stir their pot with ghostly brews.
A pinch of bone, a drop of night,
A raven’s feather, black as blight.
They toss them in with practiced ease,
To brew the storms and wake the seas.
The forest trembles, trees grow still,
As shadows dance upon the hill.
Each witch then cackles, wild and free,
Bound by the night and devilry.
Old Haggard Nell with eyes like coals,
Can see inside your darkest soul.
And Murky May, with skin so pale,
Can weave a curse that’s sure to ail.
And Wicked Bea, with spider’s hair,
Can summon demons from thin air.
Together they chant in harmony,
Their voices thick with sorcery.
“By blood, by bone, by shadow deep,
By waking spells and those who sleep,
We call the winds, the storms, the rain,
To spread our power, to feast on pain.”
They laugh and shriek, a dreadful sound,
That echoes darkly all around.
They cast their curses on the land,
With sharpened nails and bony hands.
Then in a flash, with screeches loud,
They vanish fast like storm-blown cloud.
The night grows still, the spell complete,
Their mischief sown, their work discreet.
But come the dawn, a trace remains,
Of wicked laughter, shadow stains.
For every year when autumn dies,
The witches rise beneath dark skies.
Beware the night, and heed their spell,
For witches’ deeds are hard to quell.
On Halloween, in darkened coven,
They haunt the woods—forever rovin’.
So lock your doors and guard your light,
For witches walk on Halloween night.
