In our initial coverage of the Pembroke I-90 bus crash, we reported that among the confirmed fatalities was one child. That statement was based on early remarks from officials at the crash site. Subsequent clarification from the New York State Police (NYSP) has confirmed that while children were indeed among the injured, no children were among the fatalities.

Identities of the Victims Released
The New York State Police (NYSP) has released the names of the five passengers killed in the August 22nd tour bus rollover on I-90 in Genesee County. They are:
- Shankar Kumar Jha, 65, of Madhubani, India
- Pinki Changrani, 60, of East Brunswick, NJ
- Xie Hongzhuo, 22, of Beijing, China — a Columbia University student
- Zhang Xiaolan, 55, of Jersey City, NJ
- Jian Mingli, 56, of Jersey City, NJ
The crash has left five dead and 49 injured out of a total of 54 occupants — including the driver, 52 passengers, and a tour guide. Injuries range from minor to critical, with survivors still hospitalized across Buffalo-area trauma centers.
