In the tranquil eve, when the light is dim,
And the world’s noise becomes a distant hymn,
The stage is set, the air is still,
For the fireflies to perform at will.
From the forest’s edge to the river’s bend,
Their twinkling lights seem to ascend.
A silent signal in the creeping night,
A beacon of warmth, a visual delight.
They rise in droves, a spectacle to behold,
A story of enchantment, agelessly told.
Each tiny light, a character in play,
In the theater of nature, they boldly sway.
Through the thicket and over the rill,
Their dance is one of sheer goodwill.
A natural ballet, without a script,
In the night’s embrace, they’re gently gripped.
The meadow glows with their fleeting light,
A canvas of darkness, now turned bright.
With every flash, a new scene unfolds,
A tale of the night, silently told.
As the hours pass, they do not tire,
Each flash, a spark, a minuscule fire.
A display of wonder, a luminous choir,
Their presence, a thing to admire.
The night wears on, the stars grow bold,
But the fireflies’ story is far from told.
They continue their dance, a rhythmic flight,
A harmonious spectacle in the shroud of night.
With dawn approaching, their time grows short,
But their performance is of a wondrous sort.
A final act, a last hurrah,
In the morning light, they become afar.
Yet, their memory lingers like a sweet refrain,
A magical encounter, not in vain.
For those who witnessed this display so fine,
Carry the tale of the fireflies’ shine.
In the heart of night, they found a spark,
A tiny light against the dark.
A reminder that beauty does persist,
In small wonders, often missed.
So here’s to the fireflies, and their silent ballet,
A magical show at the end of the day.
Their dance, a gift to those who see,
The beauty of life’s simplicity.
