Federal prosecutors have unsealed an indictment charging Jordon Roger Anchando, 46, of Palatka, with committing a bank robbery that authorities say involved force, intimidation, and a rapid-response multi-agency investigation. Anchando was arrested on November 18, 2025, and remains detained pending the outcome of the case. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
According to the indictment, the events unfolded on June 2, 2025, when Anchando entered a Marion County bank and used direct verbal threats and physical intimidation to seize money from the institution. The bank’s deposits were insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), bringing the crime firmly under federal jurisdiction.
While specific details of Anchando’s conduct remain sealed in the indictment, law enforcement officials confirm that the robbery involved escalation tactics consistent with threats of violence and immediate danger to both staff and surrounding customers. Surveillance footage and witness accounts provided investigators with key evidence, allowing agencies to coordinate efforts across municipal and county lines.
Anchando’s arrest followed months of investigative work by the Belleview Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who tracked movement patterns, analyzed physical evidence, and compiled financial and forensic indicators linking him to the robbery. Federal prosecutors noted that agencies worked in tight coordination to ensure the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.
Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg is overseeing the prosecution.
Federal officials reiterated that an indictment is a formal accusation — not a finding of guilt — and that Anchando is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The case now moves to the pretrial phase, where additional evidence, witness testimony, and forensic findings will be presented under federal review.
Prosecutors confirmed that this case falls under Operation Take Back America, a Justice Department initiative aimed at addressing violent crime, organized criminal activity, and threats to public safety. The operation consolidates intelligence, manpower, and resources from OCDETF and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), enabling faster case development and prosecution for high-risk offenders.
Anchando’s next appearance before a federal judge will determine the progression of the case, including future hearings and evidentiary deadlines.
