The light arrives without a sudden flare,
No trumpet sound, no need to make it rare.
It slips in softly through the edge of day,
Like something sure it’s welcome if it stays.
It finds the windows first, then spreads inside,
Across the walls where quiet moments hide.
It settles where the family photos lean,
And brightens moments never meant to be seen.
The light knows names we haven’t said aloud,
It knows the ones we carry, clear and proud.
It knows the empty chair, the extra plate,
The pause before we answer someone late.
It warms the hands that pass the serving dish,
It shines on laughter formed mid-simple wish.
It lingers on the sleeve that wipes a tear
Before the feeling finishes appearing here.
The light does not erase the passing years,
It doesn’t bargain with old doubts or fears.
It simply stands beside them, calm and kind,
As if to say, “You’re safe. I’ve got the time.”
It gathers people closer without force,
Redirects the day without remorse.
A glance becomes a moment held too long,
A silence turns into a place to belong.
Candles lean but do not lose their fight,
They flicker truths that never needed height.
Enough small flames, aligned the same old way,
Can turn the longest night into a day.
So let the world outside keep rushing on,
Let calendars insist the moment’s gone.
This light remains where hearts decide to stay—
