Shortly after the initial post, a user operating under the name “mdesase,” later identified as Simonca, initiated contact through the platform’s messaging system. During the initial exchanges, Simonca expressed direct interest in meeting the child and stated a sexual preference for children between the ages of 8 and 13. The communication escalated rapidly, transitioning from initial contact to explicit planning.

On December 11, 2024, discussions between Simonca and the undercover agent included arranging a meeting under the pretext of a “play date,” alongside references to “trading” children. During this phase, Simonca transmitted two non-explicit images of a real minor, who was subsequently identified through investigative efforts, establishing a direct connection to an actual child and expanding the scope of concern beyond the attempted enticement scenario.

The communication pattern continued over several weeks, during which Simonca outlined, in explicit detail, the acts he intended to carry out against the child. On January 10, 2025, Simonca indicated his readiness to “help” educate the child about sex, further reinforcing intent. Additional messages referenced instructing the child to “prepare” for what was described as a “photo shoot,” language that investigators identified as part of grooming and manipulation tactics designed to normalize abuse scenarios.

On January 19, 2025, Simonca traveled to a predetermined meeting location in the Jacksonville area, where he believed he would encounter both the undercover agent and the child. Upon arrival, he was taken into custody by FBI agents without incident, concluding the operational phase of the investigation.

In December 2024, Simonca had engaged in communication with another adult located outside the state of Florida, during which he received images depicting the sexual abuse of a minor.
