FBI Albuquerque and El Paso Field Offices Announce Special Agent Recruitment Event Featuring SWAT, Bomb Technicians, Crisis Negotiators, and Tactical Response Units

EL PASO, Texas — The FBI Albuquerque and FBI El Paso Field Offices have announced a large-scale in-person Special Agent recruitment event scheduled to take place in El Paso, Texas, on June 26, 2026, aimed at individuals interested in pursuing careers within the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

According to the FBI, attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with current FBI executives, Special Agents, intelligence analysts, applicant coordinators, physical fitness advisors, and additional FBI personnel representing multiple operational and investigative divisions throughout the Bureau.

Federal officials stated the event will also feature several of the FBI’s specialized Critical Incident Response units including SWAT operators, Evidence Recovery Teams, Crisis Negotiation Teams, and Bomb Technicians. Tactical equipment and operational gear used during FBI investigations and emergency response operations will reportedly be on display during the event.

The FBI stated physical fitness advisors will provide information regarding the FBI Special Agent Physical Fitness Test requirements while applicant coordinators will guide attendees through various stages of the federal hiring and security clearance process.

The recruitment event comes as federal law enforcement agencies across the United States continue seeking applicants with backgrounds in intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, law enforcement, military operations, engineering, finance, foreign languages, digital forensics, emergency response, and tactical operations.

The FBI has increasingly expanded recruitment outreach efforts in recent years as the Bureau continues handling growing national security responsibilities involving cybercrime investigations, counterterrorism operations, violent crime task forces, organized criminal enterprises, public corruption investigations, transnational narcotics trafficking, and intelligence operations.

Federal authorities stated there is no cost to attend the event and attendees will not be required to submit a formal employment application following participation. Individuals interested in pursuing FBI careers will have the opportunity to begin portions of the application process during the event if desired.

The FBI stated the event is intended for individuals at least 21 years of age who are interested in learning more about careers as FBI Special Agents.

Registered attendees will reportedly receive the event location approximately 72 hours before the event date through email notification.

The recruitment event is scheduled for June 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. in El Paso, Texas. Registration closes June 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. MDT.
