Clovis, New Mexico — Federal investigators are asking for the public’s assistance after a bank robbery at a U.S. Bank branch in Clovis, with the FBI now offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible.
According to investigators, the robbery occurred on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at approximately 2:35 p.m. at the U.S. Bank located at 2501 Prince Street. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the FBI and the Clovis Police Department.
Authorities have released a description of the suspect in hopes that someone in the community recognizes him.
Suspect Description
Investigators describe the suspect as:
- African American male
- Approximately 6 feet tall
- Wearing a white hooded sweatshirt
- Camouflage face mask
- White and black bandana
- Sunglasses
Following the robbery, the suspect reportedly fled the area on foot. Investigators have not released additional details regarding the amount of money taken or whether anyone was injured during the incident.
FBI Seeks Public Assistance
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for the robbery.
Investigators encourage anyone who witnessed suspicious activity near the bank before or after the robbery, or who recognizes the suspect from the description, to come forward. Even information that may appear insignificant could help investigators establish the suspect’s identity or movements before and after the crime.
As with many bank robbery investigations, agents may review surveillance footage, interview potential witnesses, and analyze physical and forensic evidence as they work to identify the individual involved.
Federal Penalties for Bank Robbery
Bank robbery is a serious federal offense that can carry a prison sentence of up to 20 years upon conviction. If a firearm, dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax explosive device is used during the commission of the crime, federal law allows for penalties of up to 25 years in prison.
Investigators have not released additional information regarding whether any weapon was involved in this incident.

I’m sure there is a good reason investigators are staying pretty quiet about the facts of this theft. Hopefully, the reward money will be enough to bring someone forward with information they know that can help bring the bank robber to justice. During active investigations, law enforcement often keeps certain details confidential to protect the integrity of the case and prevent information from interfering with the investigation. While that can leave the public with unanswered questions, it is often an important part of building the strongest possible case.
