ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A Farmington man has been federally charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse in a case involving two minor victims, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico.
Raleigh Jackson, 34, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, is accused of engaging in sex acts with the two minors on September 19, 2026, and on previous occasions.
Jackson has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse. He has not been convicted, and the charges remain allegations that must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in federal court.
If convicted, Jackson faces a potential sentence of up to life in federal prison.
Jackson will remain under conditions of release while the criminal case proceeds. A trial date has not yet been scheduled.
The Farmington Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office investigated the case with assistance from the Navajo Nation Police Department and the Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and FBI Albuquerque Special Agent in Charge Justin A. Garris announced the federal charges.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Marshall is prosecuting the case for the District of New Mexico.
Because the case remains pending, Jackson is presumed innocent unless and until the government proves his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Jackson remains subject to the conditions imposed by the federal court as the case moves toward further proceedings.
