MOBILE, Ala. — Three individuals have been arrested in Mobile, Alabama, after an investigation into alleged threatening communications directed toward the president of the United States, according to the FBI’s Mobile Division.
The arrests were carried out October 2 through a coordinated operation involving the FBI, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Attorney’s Office, University of South Alabama, University of South Alabama Police Department, Mobile Police Department, Saraland Police Department and the Alabama Fusion Center.
The FBI said the investigation focused on identifying and disrupting potential targeted violence, threats and criminal activity directed toward government personnel, entities and operations.
Authorities did not immediately identify the three people arrested or disclose the specific language, method of communication or circumstances surrounding the alleged threats. The FBI also did not provide individual charging details in its initial announcement, indicating that additional information would be released as the investigation develops.
The operation was closely coordinated with the Joint Mission Center, reflecting the multi-agency response used when threats involving protected government officials require information sharing between federal, state and local authorities.
FBI Mobile said the arrests also fall within the bureau’s continuing efforts to address targeted violence and threats against government personnel under National Security Presidential Memorandum 7, issued in September 2025 and titled Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence.
The University of South Alabama and the University of South Alabama Police Department participated in the coordinated operation.
The Alabama Fusion Center also participated in the operation.
Mobile Police Department and Saraland Police Department personnel also participated, adding local law enforcement resources to the coordinated federal investigation.
The FBI has not yet released the names of those arrested, detailed the alleged communications or announced specific charges. An arrest and an allegation do not establish guilt.
The FBI said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
