Ransomware Attacks
- Hoya Corporation: The Japanese optics giant was hit by a ransomware attack from the Hunters International group, which severely impacted its IT infrastructure across various business divisions. The attackers demanded a hefty ransom of $10 million for the release of around 1.7 million stolen files.
- Paris Saint-Germain (PSG): The renowned football club’s ticketing system was compromised in a cyber-attack, leading to the exposure of fans’ sensitive data, including personal details and partial bank account numbers.
- BlackSuit Ransomware Gang: This group, previously known as the Royal ransomware group, launched attacks on The East Central University (ECU) in Oklahoma and Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW).
