In seventeen seventy-six, the drums of war did sound,
As patriots stood firm, on freedom’s hallowed ground.
With muskets primed and spirits steeled,
They marched to the battlefield.
The Minutemen, the brave, the few,
For liberty, they knew what they must do.
Against the might of an empire, they took their stand,
To claim their rights, to free their land.
From Bunker Hill to Yorktown’s siege,
Their resolve was strong, their vision leagued.
With Washington’s command and Franklin’s wit,
They fought for every bit of it.
The Declaration, their guiding star,
Proclaimed to all, both near and far,
That all men are created equal, free to pursue,
Life, liberty, and happiness too.
These valiant souls, in history’s page,
Set forth the principles that would engage,
A nation’s heart, a nation’s dream,
Flowing like a mighty stream.
So let us honor those who gave,
Their lives, so bravely, so we could save,
The freedoms we hold dear today,
Because of them, the USA.
Their legacy, a torch that lights,
The path of justice, of human rights.
For they were the ones who won the day,
In seventeen seventy-six, the American way.

Very well written and very appropriate for July 4 thank you for sharing.
