CROWNPOINT WOMAN CHARGED IN ALLEGED STABBING OF UNCONSCIOUS VICTIM

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A Crownpoint woman is facing federal assault charges after investigators alleged that she stabbed a man in the chest while he was unconscious on the ground during an altercation.

Louanndra Tymria Wally, 23, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injury in connection with the July 19, 2026 incident in Crownpoint, New Mexico.

According to court documents, the confrontation began at a residence where another individual was allegedly pushed to the ground and assaulted.

The victim, identified in court records as John Doe, intervened on behalf of the person who had been pushed down.

Investigators allege that Doe was then punched in the face and knocked unconscious.

While Doe remained unconscious on the ground, Wally allegedly approached him with a knife and stabbed him once in the chest.

The victim was transported to a hospital in Crownpoint and was later flown to a regional hospital for additional treatment.

Witnesses identified Wally as the person who allegedly carried out the stabbing. Investigators were also provided with nine videos documenting the altercation.

According to court records, investigators reviewed the footage and observed Wally approach Doe while he was lying on the ground and stab him in the chest.

The video evidence is a central part of the government’s case because it allegedly captures the sequence of events leading up to the stabbing and the stabbing itself.

Wally has been released to a halfway house while the case proceeds. A trial date has not yet been scheduled. If convicted on the current charges, Wally faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Justin A. Garris, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced the case.

The Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office investigated the case with assistance from the Navajo Nation Police Department and the Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zachary C. Jones is prosecuting the case.

The prosecution remains at the charging stage.

The allegations against Wally have not been proven in court, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
