In the twilight of years, as the days gently fold,
I wander through memories, both tender and bold.
The tapestry of life, with its colors so bright,
Now whispers of silver, in the soft fading light.
The laughter of youth, once a boisterous sound,
Echoes more softly, as the years go around.
The dreams that I chased, with a fervent, strong will,
Now rest in my heart, serene and tranquil.
I ponder the paths, the turns I have made,
The moments of sunshine, the shadows that fade.
Each wrinkle, a story; each line, a tale told,
A testament to living, a life to behold.
The friends that I’ve cherished, some gone, some near,
Their voices still linger, sweet music to hear.
The love that I’ve given, the love I’ve received,
A bountiful harvest from seeds once conceived.
I gaze at the stars, a vast cosmic sea,
And marvel at all that has yet to be.
The mysteries of life, once so urgent to know,
Now welcome me gently, in their ebb and their flow.
The strength of my youth, now a quieter force,
Guides me with wisdom, a subtle discourse.
The passions that fueled a fiery heart’s blaze,
Now warm me like embers, in autumn’s soft haze.
I treasure each sunrise, each day’s gentle start,
For the beauty of living is a true work of art.
The sunset’s deep hues, a canvas so grand,
Remind me that life is still wonderfully planned.
So here in the autumn, with winter in sight,
I embrace every moment, from morning to night.
For growing old is a journey, a sacred rhyme,
A dance with the universe, a step through time.

Glad to help. This you write is too good to waste. Write some poetry for a book. I’ve been writing blog posts since 2012. I am getting better with experience and have many topics I have written about. It is good for me to write topics that help, enlighten, or inform or make people laugh. It makes me feel good too.
