In the quiet stillness of the night, when silence feels too loud,
And heavy hearts seem burdened by the weight of every cloud,
Know this world still holds a space, a place that’s just for you,
Where broken dreams can mend again, and skies can turn to blue.
When shadows close around your mind and hope is hard to find,
Remember there are hearts like yours that love, that seek, that bind.
Though pain may feel eternal, and the road may seem too long,
There’s power in each step you take, in every whispered song.
For every tear, there’s comfort; for every fear, a friend,
And though the hurt feels endless now, I promise it can mend.
You are more than this moment, more than the sadness you bear—
There’s a world that holds you gently, and voices everywhere.
The nights that seem so endless, the days that feel so cold,
Are chapters in a story that has yet to be told.
So when the weight feels crushing, and you feel you’re all alone,
Know that hearts are listening, waiting for you to phone.
No one walks this path without a helping hand to find,
No heart is left unspoken when we learn to intertwine.
So breathe, dear soul, take just one breath, and let this moment pass,
For you are worth the fight to heal, you are more than the glass.
Let love be your reminder that you are not a waste,
That every inch of who you are is worthy to be placed
In a world that needs your spirit, a world that craves your light,
For even in the darkest storm, your soul can win the fight.
Speak out your fears, let them be heard, and never feel ashamed,
For every voice that trembles here has felt the very same.
You are not weak for feeling this, you’re brave to bear the strain,
And there is strength in asking help, a balm to soothe your pain.
So when you feel you can’t go on, when all you feel is loss,
Remember there is hope beyond this bridge you have to cross.
We walk beside you in this fight, together hand in hand,
And in the storm, we’ll be your guide, your light, your strength, your stand.
You matter more than words can say, you’re needed, loved, and dear,
And though the road is hard today, tomorrow will be clear.
So hold on tight, don’t let go yet, for brighter days will come,
And you’ll see all the love you’ve missed, the battles you have won.
In Observance of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month & World Suicide Prevention Day
As we move through September, we are reminded that every life has value, every voice has meaning, and every heart that beats is a testament to resilience. This month, and on September 10th, we stand united in the effort to raise awareness about suicide prevention—a cause that touches countless lives but is too often shrouded in silence.
National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month calls us to break that silence. It invites us to start conversations that matter, to check in with those around us, and to be present for the people who might be quietly suffering. It’s a time to reflect on the strength found in vulnerability, and to remind ourselves that seeking help is not a sign of weakness but an act of courage.
On World Suicide Prevention Day, we take this commitment further. We honor those we’ve lost, and we stand with those who are still fighting battles unseen. This day serves as a reminder that prevention starts with us—whether it’s by offering a kind word, a listening ear, or simply being present for someone in need. Small gestures, often unnoticed, can make all the difference in saving a life.
The statistics are heartbreaking, but they are not the end of the story. For every life saved, every hand reached out, and every heart that chooses to stay, there is hope. We can change the narrative. We can be the difference.
If you or someone you know is struggling, know that help is available. There is no shame in reaching out. In fact, it’s one of the bravest things you can do. This month, let’s commit to being more mindful, more compassionate, and more supportive of those around us. And on September 10th, let’s take a moment to reflect on the power of human connection and the role we can all play in preventing suicide.
You matter. Your story matters. Let’s keep the conversation going.

As someone who has faced depression, bipolar disorder, and struggled with suicidal thoughts, reading this message reminds me of the importance of being seen, heard, and loved, even in the darkest moments. There were times when the silence felt overwhelming and hope seemed far away, but those who reached out—whether through small gestures or kind words—made all the difference.
It’s a powerful reminder that no matter how heavy the burden may feel, there is a reason to keep going, and there’s always someone willing to listen. During National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, it’s crucial for all of us to break the silence and support those who may be quietly suffering. You are never truly alone, and it’s okay to reach out for help. There is hope and light, even when it feels distant. 😎
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. Your words carry so much weight and truth, especially for those who may be going through something similar right now. It’s powerful to hear how the kindness of others, even in the smallest ways, can make such a profound impact. You’re absolutely right—being seen, heard, and loved is what helps keep the darkness at bay, even when it feels overwhelming. It’s a beautiful reminder that we all have a role to play in supporting each other, especially during times like National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. I admire your strength in sharing this, and I hope it encourages others to reach out and seek the light, no matter how distant it may seem. You are never truly alone, and I’m grateful for your message. Wishing you peace and continued strength. 😎
Beautiful poem, John. Helping people know they are never truly alone is a mission near and dear to my heart. Why? I lost an aunt and a husband of a dear family friend to suicide. Then fast forward many years, I struggled with a dark night of the soul and the spirit of suicide tempted me to take my own life too! Prayer brought me out of it. And years after that, I was awakened in the middle of the night with a strong male voice telling me the words, We Are All Connected. It said this phrase twice! And this is the subject of my 5th book.
You’re welcome, Sheila! Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. I’m deeply sorry to hear about the losses you’ve faced and the struggles you’ve endured, but I’m also truly inspired by your strength and how prayer helped you through such a dark time. It sounds like the message you received, We Are All Connected, is a profound truth that many need to hear, especially during moments of deep isolation. Your journey, and the way you’re channeling it into your writing, is going to be powerful, and I believe your message will resonate with many. Please know that you’re making a real difference by sharing your story, and I admire your dedication to helping others feel less alone. Wishing you peace and continued healing as you share your truth with the world. 😎
Thank you so much, John, for reading my comment and responding in such a compassionate way. I do hope I can help people.
You’re welcome, Sheila! Thank you very much for your kind words! It’s truly appreciated, and I believe your desire to help people will make a positive difference. 😎
Rightly said. You Matter. Human connection is important.
Absolutely! Thank you very much, Kritika! 😎
Welcome always John 🙂
