In the hour when the night grows thick,
And fog rolls in, both dark and quick,
There dwells a Keeper, old and wise,
With hollowed gaze and vacant eyes.
Three dared enter his shrouded path,
Unaware of the Keeper’s wrath.
The mist hung low, the air was still,
And each would test their mortal will.
The first, too brave, took up a laugh,
And mocked the Keeper’s haunted path.
Yet soon he felt a chilling breath,
A whisper close, a brush with death.
The fog grew dense, his sight grew dim,
The shadows closed, surrounding him.
A hand reached out from mist so cold,
And seized his soul with grasping hold.
The second friend, a skeptic bold,
Dismissed the tales the legends told.
But as he walked, he heard a sound—
A distant, hollow, echoing pound.
Footsteps soft, yet drawing near,
Each step a pulse, a heart of fear.
The fog crept close, a silent curse,
And wrapped him in the Keeper’s verse.
No scream escaped, no plea, no cry,
Just silent mist and empty sky.
The fog took shape, a face, a grin,
And pulled him deeper, further in.
The last one stood, his courage failed,
The night too dark, his strength derailed.
He felt the weight, the crushing cold,
A fear that gripped his heart and soul.
The Keeper’s face, so pale and long,
Began to hum a ghostly song.
A sound so soft, yet filled with dread,
That froze his feet like feet of lead.
“Why come here, fool, to test your fate?
The mist was here to guard the gate.
For souls that wander from the light
Are bound to fade into the night.”
The fog grew thick, a cloak of doom,
A shroud that held eternal gloom.
And as his life began to fade,
The last one cried, his choices made.
So heed this tale of mist and fear,
For when it calls, do not draw near.
The Keeper waits in shadows gray,
For those who dare to lose their way.
