In a world where silence has become the default setting of major corporations, Apple quietly triggered a wave of red alerts this week—sending out threat notifications to users in over 100 countries, warning them that their phones may have been compromised by what experts call mercenary-grade spyware.

Also targeted: Eva Vlaardingerbroek, a Dutch political commentator known for her outspoken conservative views. She posted publicly that she was “likely being intimidated” and refused to back down. “It won’t work,” she said on X.
