Two Sentenced in Federal Court for Armed Carjackings in St. Louis Following Coordinated Setup and Multi-Agency Investigation

Two individuals have been sentenced in federal court after a series of armed carjackings in St. Louis during December 2024 that involved coordinated targeting, the use of firearms, and the theft of multiple vehicles across separate incidents.

Davion Pruitt, 19, of St. Louis, was sentenced to nine years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Matthew T. Schelp. Co-defendant Tywone Calvin, 20, of Pine Lawn, received a sentence of nine and one-half years in prison following earlier proceedings. Both defendants pleaded guilty to one count of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, charges that carry enhanced penalties due to the use of weapons during the commission of the offenses.

The case centers on two separate carjacking incidents occurring within a three-day period. On December 23, 2024, the defendants targeted a victim driving a 2011 Cadillac Escalade. The encounter was not random. According to case details, the victim had arranged to meet a woman, Mya Reagan, through Facebook. Reagan, acting at the direction of Pruitt and Calvin, coordinated the meeting with the intent of setting up the robbery.

During the encounter, Reagan instructed the victim to stop at a gas station near South Broadway and Interstate 55. When the victim exited the store, he was confronted by two armed individuals who forcibly took possession of the vehicle. The Escalade was later recovered by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officers the same day, with three individuals inside who reported purchasing the vehicle from a person matching Reagan’s description, indicating rapid secondary movement of the stolen asset.

A second carjacking occurred in the early morning hours of December 26, 2024, involving a 2017 Chevrolet Trax. The victim was alerted by a key fob notification and discovered two armed individuals at his vehicle. The suspects demanded the keys and fled with the SUV.

Later that same day, St. Louis County Police Department officers located the stolen Trax with Pruitt and Calvin inside. During the encounter, Calvin fled the vehicle after a crash and attempted to escape on foot, dropping a handgun in the process. Pruitt evaded immediate capture but was later arrested by St. Louis police on February 14, 2025. At the time of his arrest, officers recovered a 9mm handgun equipped with a laser sight.

The involvement of Mya Reagan adds a structured element to the case, demonstrating how social platforms can be used to facilitate targeted crimes. Reagan pleaded guilty to the carjacking charge on April 10 and is scheduled for sentencing in July. Her role in identifying and positioning victims underscores a method where digital interaction is used to bridge access between offenders and targets.

The investigation was conducted by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the St. Louis County Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Torrie J. Schneider.

The coordinated nature of the incidents, the use of firearms, and the rapid turnover of stolen vehicles reflect patterns commonly seen in urban carjacking cases where offenders leverage both opportunity and planning. The inclusion of a setup component through social contact further demonstrates the evolving methods used to identify and isolate victims.
