WASHINGTON, D.C. — Federal authorities are seeking public assistance following a violent assault involving multiple unidentified individuals inside a restaurant in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Washington, D.C., as investigators work to identify those responsible for the disturbance.
The FBI Washington Field Office and the Metropolitan Police Department announced a joint effort to locate and identify individuals connected to the incident, which occurred on May 16 at the Chipotle restaurant located at 1255 First Street SE.
According to investigators, the altercation occurred at approximately 8:41 p.m. when a group of unidentified individuals entered the restaurant and immediately became involved in a physical confrontation with another group already inside the establishment.
Authorities stated the fight escalated rapidly before both groups fled the scene prior to the arrival of responding Metropolitan Police Department officers.
Federal authorities have not publicly confirmed the number of individuals involved, whether weapons were present during the altercation, or whether any injuries required hospitalization.
The FBI Washington Field Office announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individuals involved in the assault.
The Metropolitan Police Department is also offering an additional reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of individuals connected to crimes committed within the District of Columbia.
Investigators continue reviewing surveillance footage, witness statements, digital evidence, and possible social media material connected to the altercation as authorities work to reconstruct the incident timeline and identify all participants involved.
Violent incidents occurring in densely populated entertainment and commercial districts frequently generate significant law enforcement concern due to the potential for escalation, collateral injuries, panic among bystanders, and wider public safety risks.
The Navy Yard neighborhood has experienced substantial commercial growth and increased nightlife activity in recent years, leading to heavier evening foot traffic and expanded law enforcement monitoring throughout the area.
Federal investigators increasingly rely on public assistance, surveillance systems, mobile video recordings, and digital tip submissions during investigations involving unidentified suspects who flee active crime scenes before police arrival.
The FBI stated public cooperation remains critical in identifying individuals involved in violent incidents occurring in public spaces.
Authorities urged anyone with information regarding the assault, including photos, videos, or witness observations connected to the individuals involved, to contact investigators immediately.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the FBI Washington Field Office at 202-278-2000 or the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through the FBI’s online tip portal.
Federal authorities have not announced whether additional charges may be pursued as the investigation remains active.

These pictures look pretty good. I hope they are able to find these guys and figure out what all the fuss was about. I can imagine the damage to the restaurant was costly and those responsible for that need to see that it gets paid for. It would also be nice to discover if anyone was hurt in this fight. If there are gangs warring in the area, that would be good to know and whatever information is obtained may be helpful in stopping further incidents like this.
