Federal prosecutors in the Middle District of Florida announced that Meade Lewis, 32, of Temple Terrace, has been indicted on five counts of wire fraud tied to an alleged multimillion-dollar investment fraud operation involving mIQroTech, Inc., a technology company connected to the oil and gas industry.
According to the indictment, Lewis allegedly raised more than $7 million from investors through false and misleading representations involving mIQroTech’s financial condition, customer relationships, operational performance, and technology capabilities. Authorities stated Lewis served as the founder, chief executive officer, and majority shareholder of the company during the alleged scheme.
Federal investigators allege investors were led to believe the company possessed commercially viable technology products and legitimate business growth tied to industrial energy-sector applications. Prosecutors allege some investor funds were instead diverted for Lewis’s personal enrichment rather than corporate operations, research and development, infrastructure expansion, or product deployment.
The indictment also contains a forfeiture allegation seeking at least $7,096,458, which federal authorities allege represents proceeds obtained through the offenses. If convicted, Lewis faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison on each count.
The case reflects continuing federal attention toward investment operations involving advanced technology claims, startup fundraising structures, and private investor solicitation campaigns tied to industrial infrastructure sectors. Technology-centered investment schemes involving exaggerated valuation claims, fabricated customer activity, inflated operational capabilities, or misleading financial disclosures continue drawing scrutiny from federal investigators due to the large financial exposure investors can face in rapidly developing technology markets.
Authorities have increasingly focused on fraud allegations involving emerging technology sectors where technical complexity, proprietary terminology, and private fundraising environments can make independent investor verification more difficult. Cases involving startup technology firms often center around alleged misrepresentations tied to scalability, product readiness, contract activity, customer acquisition, or projected revenue streams.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Ross Roberts is prosecuting the matter. Assistant United States Attorney Blain Goff is handling the forfeiture proceedings.
Federal authorities emphasized that an indictment is only a formal accusation and that Meade Lewis is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

It’s to bad that people continually fall for scams like this. I guess we like to trust others but when there is money involved there should be adequate research done to insure an investment is really that. I’m glad they have indicted this guy and I hope he gets a fair trail and the proper sentence if found guilty.
Thank you for this report.
You’re very welcome, Chris.
Unfortunately, many financial fraud schemes often rely heavily on trust, confidence-building, exaggerated business claims, manipulated financial projections, emotional persuasion campaigns that can sometimes take weeks or even months to build trust, and the promise of major returns or breakthrough technology opportunities. In many cases, investors may not always have access to the internal financial data, operational records, or verification methods needed to fully evaluate whether the claims being presented are legitimate.
This case also highlights the importance of conducting careful due diligence. Like you said, when there is money involved, there should be adequate research, and I agree, especially when large sums of money, startup investment opportunities, emerging technology ventures, private funding operations, or high-growth business claims are involved.
And also like you said, the legal process will ultimately determine the outcome moving forward, and everyone involved is entitled to due process under the law.
Thank you again for reading and for taking the time to comment, Chris. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. I hope all is well, and I hope you have a great night and day ahead. 😎
You’re welcome, John, and thank you this good reply. There are people out there who are willing to work very hard to build false trust. I think your comment about due diligence is spot on. If unable to verify the needed information to insure that an investment is at least in an honest place, I couldn’t get involved.
Thank you again for this reply, John. I hope you have a great night and day ahead as well!😊
