FBI Offers $10,000 Reward in Hunt for Escaped Federal Prisoner Arthur Cofield

Federal authorities are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the capture and conviction of escaped federal inmate Arthur Cofield, a convicted fraud offender with ties to Metro Atlanta who escaped from a federal correctional institution in Georgia earlier this week.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Atlanta Field Office, agents are assisting the United States Marshals Service in the ongoing manhunt for Cofield following his reported escape from the Federal Correctional Institution in Jesup, Georgia, on May 26, 2026.

Federal officials stated Cofield, 34, had been serving an 11-year and three-month federal prison sentence connected to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft offenses tied to a large-scale charity fraud operation prosecuted in the Northern District of Georgia.

Authorities warned that Cofield should be considered armed and dangerous.

The escape immediately triggered a coordinated federal fugitive operation involving multiple agencies, including the FBI and the United States Marshals Service, as investigators began tracking possible movements, contacts, transportation access points, and known regional ties connected to the fugitive.
