EL DORADO, Ark. — A Camden, Arkansas, man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison after admitting to uploading child pornography to an internet-based storage platform and possessing additional illegal material on his cellphone, federal prosecutors announced.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Arkansas, Calvin Thomas Brown, 43, of Camden, was sentenced on June 15, 2026, to 108 months in federal prison followed by 10 years of supervised release. The sentence was imposed by U.S. District Judge Susan O. Hickey during proceedings held in the U.S. District Court in El Dorado.
According to court documents, Brown uploaded images and videos depicting child pornography to an online cloud storage platform. The uploads generated a CyberTipline report through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which was subsequently referred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for further investigation.
Federal investigators determined that Brown had not only uploaded child pornography but also possessed more than one hundred additional images and videos depicting child pornography on his cellular phone.
According to prosecutors, investigators also discovered evidence that Brown had communicated online with individuals who shared an interest in child sexual exploitation. Court documents state he used those communications to solicit and receive additional child pornography files.
A federal grand jury in the Western District of Arkansas returned an indictment against Brown in July 2025. He later pleaded guilty in November 2025, accepting responsibility for the offenses before being sentenced in federal court.
CyberTipline reports submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children play a significant role in identifying online child exploitation offenses. Federal law requires many electronic service providers to report apparent child sexual abuse material discovered on their platforms, allowing law enforcement agencies to initiate investigations and identify offenders and potential victims.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Kevin R. Holmes for the Western District of Arkansas.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Camden Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Devon Still prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
The case was prosecuted as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative that brings together federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to investigate, identify, and prosecute individuals involved in the online sexual exploitation of children while working to identify and rescue victims.

Project Safe Childhood strikes again. Nice work to all involved in attempting to stop the spread of this “disease” on our culture. Three stories here today are about this type of thing and, sadly, that’s probably the right ratio of stories like this that should be covered. Seeing this story is from of Arkansas brings it home. It doesn’t make it any more real than similar stories; it just alerts us to the fact that this is going on everywhere. No state is immune to this type of evil behavior.
There is one thing that gives me hope for this person. He pleaded guilty and accepted responsibility for the offenses before being sentenced in federal court. Maybe he did this to get a lesser sentence but maybe he is starting to think of how messed up his life has been. I hope the latter is true.

One thing that stands out to me is how frequently these investigations begin with digital evidence and coordinated reporting between organizations before eventually leading to arrests and prosecutions. What many people don’t realize is that when you use the internet, you often leave behind a digital forensic footprint, no matter how hard you try to hide it. I’m certainly glad that continued cooperation between agencies has become such an important part of protecting children and identifying these predators.
As for the guilty plea, only he truly knows his motivations. The justice system has now run its course in this case, and hopefully the sentence provides an opportunity for reflection, rehabilitation, and ultimately finding God.
