I’m grateful that the FBI San Juan Field Office honored the life and public service of Virgin Islands Police Department Officer Eustace Charles, a veteran member of the department’s Executive Service Unit. According to this article he served most of his life protecting the people of the Virgin Islands. I would also like to extend my condolences to his loved ones and fellow officers as they mourn this loss.”

      I absolutely agree. Tributes of this kind matter because an officer’s public service extends far beyond the individual moments that receive attention. The response from the FBI San Juan Field Office reflects the respect Officer Charles earned and the strength of the partnership he shared with fellow law enforcement professionals.

         Thank you for reminding me about the Sunday Musing I haven’t commented on yet. I will definitely get to it soon. I did get notice of it in my Reader just like all of the other blogs I follow so there are no problems that I can see. I’ve been very busy. My son just bought a house and I’ve been helping him with that and my daughter is in the hospital for the 3rd time in three weeks. My wife had to take her to a hospital four hours away to get decent attention. She should be okay. She has an appointment with a specialist (I think this will be her fourth specialist about different things) in a week or so. I am behind in my blogging but I will eventually catch up. I enjoy your Sunday Musings so I’m waiting for a time when I can focus on it appropriately.

         You certainly have a great deal happening right now. Congratulations to your son on buying his new house. That is an exciting milestone, and I’m sure having your help means a great deal to him.

         I’m truly sorry that your daughter has been hospitalized three times in three weeks. Your wife having to drive her four hours away just to receive decent attention must have been exhausting, frustrating, and frightening for all of you. I’m relieved to hear that she should be okay and that she has an appointment with another specialist coming up soon. I sincerely hope this specialist can provide some clear answers and help get her on the right path.

         Please focus on your family and take all the time you need. The articles and Sunday Musing will still be there whenever life settles down enough for you to enjoy them. I will keep your daughter, your wife, you, and your entire family in my prayers.

      3. Thank you so much for this very thoughtful and kind reply, John. I’m glad you know how much I enjoy your Sunday musings. My goal is to read everyone of them when I can. I’m thinking I might get to the last one today but I appreciate your patience with me.
         I do have a bunch of things happening right now and much of my blogging is in “wait” mode. I am slowly catching up as time goes by. It was frustrating that my wife had to take my daughter to four hospitals before they started looking for the root of the problem. She had to be put on an IV drip of antibiotics as she had an infection and they are still trying to figure out where it was. I could write a book on Hannah’s medical history but she would do a much better job than I could. She’s constantly studying her symptoms and she has diagnosed herself with a couple of things before the doctors did. Anyway, things are pretty stable for the moment. My son, Grant, is at his house today working and waiting for the cable guy to show up and get his internet working. He’s a High School English teacher going into his 6th year of teaching. He has worked hard and saved his money which has put him in a situation where he could afford this home. Now he won’t have to drive one hour to and from work each day. His commute will be much shorter.
