FBI Philadelphia Warns Drone Operators: 2026 Little League World Series Is a No-Drone Zone

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA — August 18, 2026 — The FBI Philadelphia Field Office, working with the Federal Aviation Administration and Pennsylvania State Police, is warning drone operators that the 2026 Little League World Series and related events are subject to temporary flight restrictions that prohibit unauthorized drone activity around the venues.

Law enforcement has established a no-drone zone covering the Little League World Series complex and accompanying events, with temporary flight restrictions extending approximately one nautical mile from the host location and up to 1,000 feet above ground level.

The restrictions are intended to protect players, attendees, employees, fans, aviation safety, critical infrastructure, and public safety throughout the tournament.

The first restriction period applies to the Grand Slam Parade on August 18 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

At the Little League World Series Complex, temporary flight restrictions are scheduled for August 19 through August 22 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; August 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; August 24 through August 26 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; August 27 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.; August 28 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; August 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and August 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A separate restriction period applies to the MLB Classic Game on August 23 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

During those periods, recreational and other unauthorized drone flights are prohibited within the restricted airspace.

Only specially authorized operations are permitted. Those may include law-enforcement activity, emergency-response flights, or drone operations conducted under an FAA-approved waiver.

Drone operators are responsible for checking for active airspace restrictions before every flight. The FBI is directing operators to use an FAA-approved B4UFLY service provider to determine whether temporary restrictions or other airspace limitations are in effect before launching an unmanned aircraft.

Temporary flight restrictions are in effect around the Little League World Series and accompanying events, and drone operators are required to remain outside the restricted airspace unless they have specific authorization to enter it.

The FBI works with the FAA to enforce temporary flight restrictions and uses federally authorized capabilities to detect, track, and assess unauthorized drone activity around protected venues.

Personnel from both agencies are being deployed to identify drone activity that could create risks to aviation safety, critical infrastructure, event security, or public safety.

Anyone who observes unsafe or suspicious drone activity near the event is advised to contact 911, notify on-site law enforcement, or contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

The FBI emphasized that the purpose of the restrictions is to protect every player, attendee, employee, and fan while allowing the Little League World Series and related events to proceed without unauthorized aircraft operating over or near crowded venues.

Drone operators planning flights in the Williamsport area during the tournament should verify current temporary flight restrictions before takeoff and remain outside the restricted airspace unless they have received specific authorization.
