BOSTON SCIENTIFIC CYBERSECURITY INCIDENT DISRUPTS ORDER PROCESSING AND SHIPMENT OPERATIONS

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific has confirmed that a cybersecurity incident disrupted portions of its information-technology environment, affecting operating systems, business applications, and the company’s ability to process and ship customer orders.

Boston Scientific said it identified the incident on August 25, 2026, after certain information-technology systems were affected by a network outage.

The company activated its incident-response procedures after detecting the incident and began working with third-party cybersecurity specialists to investigate the event, contain the threat, and restore affected systems.

According to Boston Scientific, the disruption has affected access to certain operating systems and business applications.

The company specifically confirmed that the incident interfered with its ability to process and ship customer orders, creating an operational impact that extends beyond internal network access.

Medical-device supply chains rely on more than manufacturing capacity alone. Boston Scientific has not said that medical-device production itself was halted.
