FBI DEPLOYS EVERFOX INSIDER-THREAT MONITORING ACROSS TENS OF THOUSANDS OF ENDPOINTS

WASHINGTON — The FBI has completed deployment of advanced insider-threat monitoring capabilities across multiple internal networks, expanding user-activity monitoring and behavioral analytics across tens of thousands of endpoints throughout the Bureau.

The FBI announced the implementation on September 23, 2026, with Everfox, a defense technology company specializing in high-assurance cybersecurity systems for mission-critical environments. The deployment is now fully operational and is intended to strengthen the Bureau’s ability to identify activity that may indicate an insider threat.

The program expands the FBI’s visibility into user activity across its enterprise while the Bureau maintains mission ownership, governance, and strategic priorities.

Everfox is responsible for technical execution, engineering support, and product configuration under its contract with the FBI. The company also coordinates daily with FBI stakeholders as the system operates across multiple networks.

FBI Director Kash Patel said protecting the Bureau’s people, information, and mission requires the ability to detect and respond to insider threats across its most sensitive networks. He said the Everfox deployment strengthens that capability while meeting federal security requirements.

The system combines user-activity monitoring with behavioral analytics.

Everfox Chairman and CEO Dave Wajsgras said the platform combines behavioral context with advanced analytics and is used across defense and intelligence environments. He said early visibility into unusual behavior is essential for addressing insider-risk threats in national-security environments.

The deployment also resulted in the FBI achieving full compliance with Committee on National Security Systems Directive 504, which establishes minimum federal requirements for insider-threat user-activity monitoring.

The FBI announcement does not state that the new deployment was prompted by a specific insider incident, breach, or identified employee threat.

The FBI did not disclose the total contract value, specific Everfox products involved, deployment timeline, exact number of monitored endpoints, or which individual FBI networks are covered.

For the Bureau, the deployment adds another layer to internal cybersecurity by focusing not only on who can access sensitive systems, but also on what authorized users do once that access has been granted.
