HOUSTON MAN SENTENCED TO 32 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR TRAFFICKING MINORS IN HOUSTON AND DALLAS

HOUSTON, Texas — A Houston man convicted of trafficking multiple minor victims between Houston and Dallas has been sentenced to 32 years in federal prison following his conviction on sex trafficking and child exploitation charges, federal authorities announced.

Cristian Morris, 23, received a sentence of 384 months in federal prison after a federal jury found him guilty of two counts of sex trafficking of minors and one count of coercion and enticement of a minor. U.S. District Judge Alfred H. Bennett imposed the sentence and ordered Morris to serve 15 years of supervised release following his incarceration.

During sentencing, the court described sex trafficking as a horrific crime and noted that the harm inflicted upon the victims would leave lasting emotional and psychological scars for the rest of their lives.

According to evidence presented during trial, Morris operated a trafficking scheme between January and June 2023 that targeted vulnerable teenage girls. Prosecutors said he recruited underage victims, provided them with drugs, and advertised them online for commercial sex acts.

The investigation revealed that Morris transported victims between Houston and Dallas and directed their activities in areas commonly associated with commercial sex trafficking operations. Authorities stated that he instructed the victims on how to solicit clients, set prices, and conduct transactions while retaining all proceeds generated from the exploitation.

Jurors heard testimony from three victims who described months of trafficking and manipulation. Trial evidence showed Morris moved victims between the two cities and arranged commercial sex encounters at hotels located near known trafficking corridors.

Federal prosecutors said one of the victims was a 15-year-old runaway. Law enforcement arrested Morris on June 23, 2023, after investigators discovered he had posted commercial sex advertisements involving the minor.

The jury returned guilty verdicts following less than two days of deliberations after a three-day federal trial in March 2025.

As part of his sentence, Morris must register as a sex offender and comply with numerous restrictions designed to limit his access to children and internet-based platforms following his eventual release from prison.

The case highlights the continued efforts of federal, state, and local authorities to combat human trafficking operations targeting minors. Human trafficking investigators frequently identify runaway and vulnerable youth as prime targets for traffickers who use coercion, manipulation, drugs, violence, financial control, and psychological pressure to maintain control over victims.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Houston Police Department through the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance (HTRA), a multi-agency task force dedicated to identifying victims, dismantling trafficking networks, and prosecuting offenders.

The Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance includes personnel from numerous federal, state, and local agencies, including the FBI, Houston Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, Texas Attorney General’s Office, IRS Criminal Investigation, Department of Labor, Texas Department of Public Safety, Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General, and multiple county law enforcement agencies throughout the region.

Established in 2004, the alliance has become a nationally recognized model for coordinating investigations, victim services, and prosecutions involving human trafficking offenses.
