Before the first firework splits the night,
Before the sky erupts in light,
Before the songs, the cheers, the smiles,
Let’s journey back through countless miles.
To weathered boots on muddy ground,
Where courage spoke without a sound.
To weary hands and steadfast eyes,
That dared to dream beneath dark skies.
They weren’t pursuing wealth or fame,
Or hoping history knew their name.
They simply knew deep in their soul,
That freedom was the highest goal.
They faced the thunder, smoke, and flame,
Yet never turned or placed the blame.
With every hardship they endured,
A stronger nation was secured.
The flag that dances in the breeze
Is more than cloth in summer trees.
Each crimson stripe, each brilliant star,
Reminds us who we truly are.
The red recalls the blood once shed,
By countless hearts now long since dead.
The white speaks softly, pure and true,
Of hope forever breaking through.
The blue above, so vast and wide,
Still calls us all to stand with pride.
Not boasting loud or chasing fame,
But grateful hearts that speak their name.
Tonight, the heavens come alive,
As bursts of color leap and dive.
Like painted dreams they softly bloom,
Then fade into the evening’s gloom.
Yet every spark that lights the air
Reminds us someone once stood there.
Someone who chose the harder road,
And bore our freedom’s heavy load.
A child looks up with joyful eyes,
Amazed by every glowing prize.
May they one day come to understand
The gift entrusted to their hands.
For freedom isn’t merely won
When battles end and wars are done.
It lives within each honest choice,
Each fearless heart, each faithful voice.
It lives when neighbors lend a hand,
When justice firmly takes its stand.
It grows where kindness finds a place,
And mercy wears a human face.
It lives inside a mother’s prayer,
A father’s steady, watchful care.
It lives each time we choose what’s right,
Through every trial, through every fight.
Across the rivers, hills, and plains,
Through summer suns and autumn rains,
Through bustling towns and quiet farms,
Our nation rests in countless arms.
Though we may differ, young or old,
In stories lived or truths we’ve told,
The freedom that we celebrate
Was never born from chance or fate.
It came through freedoms bought, not sold,
Through hearts worth more than finest gold.
Through whispered prayers and tear-filled eyes,
Through final breaths and last goodbyes.
So when you see Old Glory wave,
Remember every soul so brave.
Remember every folded flag,
Each silent march, each soldier’s bag.
Remember empty seats at home,
Where loved ones waited all alone.
Remember letters stained with tears,
Still treasured through the passing years.
Remember voices now at rest,
Who simply gave their very best.
They left tomorrow in our care,
A sacred trust for all to share.
May we protect what they began,
Not only as Americans,
But as good neighbors, strong and true,
In all the noble things we do.
May hatred never lead our way,
May freedom light each passing day.
May truth remain our guiding flame,
And freedom never die in vain.
As the final rockets slowly fade,
And echoes drift where light was made,
Don’t let the meaning disappear
Until this time again next year.
Carry it into every dawn,
After Independence Day is gone.
For every sunrise gives us more,
Another chance worth fighting for.
It lives in every grateful heart,
In every soul that plays its part.
In every dream still reaching higher,
Fed by hope’s undying fire.
So raise your eyes toward Heaven above,
Be thankful for this land we love.
For every blessing, every breath,
Was purchased through another’s death.
God bless the homes from coast to coast.
God bless the living and the lost.
God bless the brave who’ve stood the test.
God grant the fallen peaceful rest.
And may our children always know,
Freedom’s roots run deep below.
They’re fed by hands of those who give
Their all, so others still may live.
Happy Fourth of July.
May our flags always wave in freedom, our hearts remain grateful, and may the light of liberty continue to shine for generations yet to come.
