TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The FBI’s Salt Lake City Field Office is seeking information from potential victims and members of the public following the deadly shooting in Twin Falls, Idaho, as federal personnel assist local authorities with the investigation and provide support to victims and their families.
The FBI is asking anyone affected by the August 1, 2026, tragedy, or anyone who believes they may qualify as a victim, to complete the victim-information form established for the incident. People who know someone else who may have been victimized are encouraged to ask that person to submit the form directly.
FBI resources from across the country are responding to Twin Falls. The federal response includes special agents, evidence response teams, victim specialists and members of the FBI’s Victim Services Division.
Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls of the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office said personnel in Boise and Salt Lake City mobilized immediately after learning of the shooting. The Salt Lake City Field Office covers both Idaho and Utah.
“The moment we learned what had happened yesterday, our special agents and personnel in Boise and Salt Lake City mobilized immediately,” Bohls said.
The FBI has committed its investigative and intelligence resources to assisting the Twin Falls Police Department.
“We have committed the full weight of our resources to the Twin Falls Police Department, deploying every investigative and intelligence tool at our disposal,” Bohls said.
The FBI’s Victim Services Division is also deploying its Victim Services Response Team to Twin Falls. The team will work with local, state and federal agencies to provide crisis assistance and support to people affected by the shooting.
“Our evidence response teams and victim services specialists are also on the ground, working tirelessly to support both the investigation and those impacted,” Bohls said.
The FBI is also seeking photographs and videos connected to the incident. Authorities are aware that footage and images have circulated across social media and are asking the public to submit relevant material through the FBI’s dedicated digital media tipline for the Twin Falls shooting.

People with relevant information should preserve what they possess and provide it to law enforcement without confronting individuals or placing themselves at risk.
Bohls extended the FBI’s condolences to the victims, their families and the wider Twin Falls community.
“To the families who have lost a loved one, we extend our deepest, most heartfelt condolences,” Bohls said. “There are no adequate words for a loss so profound, and we are truly sorry.”
The FBI is working alongside the Twin Falls Police Department and other local, state and federal partners. Bohls said the agencies are committed to completing a thorough investigation and obtaining answers for the victims and their families.
“This is an incredibly painful time for the city of Twin Falls and for our entire community,” Bohls said. “We remain committed to our partners, the victims—and their families—as we work to get the answers they deserve.”

This shooting was all over the news and I hope those working this case can make discoveries about reasons why this shooter did what he did. People have died and loved ones will want to have some answers. Still, this is a horrific event that will not be undone. It is so tragic. My prayers are with the loved ones of the injured and those who died. I’m grateful that a couple of citizens tried to make a difference in this outcome.
