Border officials traced the pause to the power surge triggered by the missile assault.

What unfolded was not only kinetic destruction but a cascading failure: missiles delivered the blow, then the grid collapsed, then the data systems. With power gone, the digital locks failed, servers froze, networks collapsed. The war, for a few terrifying hours, became a blackout.
