ILLINOIS WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY IN FEDERAL CASE INVOLVING DISTRIBUTION OF ANIMAL CRUSH VIDEOS THROUGH ONLINE NETWORK

An Illinois woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges tied to the creation and distribution of illegal animal crush videos involving the torture of monkeys, marking the second guilty plea connected to a coordinated distribution network operating through online communication channels.

According to court proceedings, Amanda Leigh Fourez, 33, of Catlin, Illinois, entered a guilty plea to two federal counts before U.S. District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand. The charges include conspiracy to create and distribute animal crush videos and the distribution of those materials through digital platforms.

Court records establish that Fourez participated in a group-based system in which individuals pooled financial resources to commission the production of videos depicting extreme acts of violence against living animals. The content involved deliberate infliction of severe injury to non-human mammals, specifically monkeys, through methods that included crushing, burning, drowning, suffocation, and impalement.

The produced videos were circulated among members of private online groups using encrypted or direct messaging applications. Fourez admitted to sending at least 11 payments to facilitate the creation of such content and acknowledged distributing the videos on at least 10 occasions. Investigators determined that she also maintained archived collections of the material and exercised control over aspects of its distribution within the network.

The case reflects an organized structure in which content creation, funding, and dissemination were coordinated across multiple participants. Another identified member of the group, Joseph Garrett Buckland of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, previously entered a guilty plea to conspiracy-related charges earlier in April 2026.

Federal law prohibits the creation, distribution, and possession with intent to distribute animal crush content, with enforcement authority extending to digital transmission and interstate activity. The charges in this case fall under statutes addressing obscene depictions of animal cruelty and the use of communication platforms to distribute such material.

Sentencing for Fourez is scheduled for August 27, 2026. The statutory maximum penalty includes up to seven years in federal prison and fines reaching $500,000, subject to judicial determination based on offense severity and criminal history.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), including specialized cyber and human exploitation units. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kelly M. Locher for the Western District of Pennsylvania and Trial Attorney Emily Stone of the Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division.
